Safety Awareness Campaign

For this task Canberra Metro Operations were looking for a graphic designer to assist them with their safety awareness campaign for the Light Rail. The campaign was to be targeted at 18-24 year olds and its aims were to educate, persuade and inform the audience of the safety messages.

 

The design components included an A2 Poster which grabs the audience’s attention within 6 seconds, Gif images for social media and a static image for display on screens within the light rail vehicles.

 

I featured red in my design, which I made simplistic yet eye-catching. The colours as well as the circular design grabs and draws in the audience’s attention. I devised a catchy two line slogan “Use your ears, Live for Years” to deliver my safety message along with a graphic of a tram heading towards a young adult wearing headphones. 

 

I was awarded a runners up place in the competition, and my poster, along with calendars and drink coasters featuring my design were distributed to the public.
